Wide tapes provide a broader contact surface than standard diameter tapes, helping maintain alignment and reducing measurement variability—especially on large or heavy components.

– Imperial Tapes
Our custom-made inch Wide Diameter Tapes feature a 1″ wide gauge member and a 2″ wide body width as standard. Additional gauge member widths of 1½”, 2″, and 5″ are also available.
Wide Diameter Tapes are offered in Blue Easy-to-Read, with a standard material thickness of 0.010″.
– Metric Tapes
Our custom-made metric Wide Diameter Tapes feature a 25.4 mm wide gauge member and a 50.8 mm wide body width as standard. Additional gauge member widths of 38.1 mm, 50.8 mm, and 63.5 mm are also available.
Wide Diameter Tapes are offered in Blue Easy-to-Read, with a standard material thickness of 0.25 mm.

Like all Pi Tape® products, custom Wide Tapes are manufactured to strict quality standards and calibrated for direct measurement. They are engineered to maintain accuracy and stability even in demanding applications.
Accuracy: ±0.003″ up to 48″ (±0.09 mm up to 1200 mm)
Most Pi Tape® brand precision Wide Tapes are furnished with a Calibration Report. Measurement results are traceable through NIST to the International System of Units (SI), providing documented confidence in accuracy.
Note: A Calibration Report may not be available for extra-wide tapes.
