Standard tapes are manufactured with a 1/4″ (6.35mm) wide Vernier Gage, a 1/2″ (12.7mm) wide Main Body and a 1/4″ (6.35mm) wide Gage Member.
The standard thickness of the material is .010″ (0.25mm) for tapes with a starting point of 2″ (50mm) or larger.
*Smaller sizes have a thickness of either .006″ (0.15mm) or .007″ (0.18mm) depending on the material type.
